Botox wrinkle treatment in Berlin
Forehead wrinkles, laugh lines or frown lines – people with pronounced facial expressions often have to expect such marks early on. Due to the tension of the muscles when speaking, laughing and during all other facial movements, wrinkles form sooner or later. They are usually not welcome. Forehead wrinkles, frown lines and other facial wrinkles make us look tired, tense, exhausted and often older than we are.
Botox wrinkle treatment is now one of the standard treatments in aesthetic medicine. It is extremely gentle and almost free of side effects. Expression lines are sustainably smoothed by this. Although the effect of the injections only lasts for a limited period, with regular use they also develop a preventive effect against further wrinkles.
For a Botox wrinkle treatment in Berlin, we offer our patients the highest medical standards in our specialist practice for plastic and aesthetic surgery. Of course, the treatments are individually tailored to your personal circumstances. Natural aging processes are slowed down – your positive appearance and fresh radiance will convince you, as well as those around you.

Before the actual wrinkle treatment, the skin is disinfected and thus prepared for the Botox injections. A wrinkle treatment with Botox is considered to be extremely low-pain. You decide whether you want a cream for local anesthesia, with which you will most likely hardly feel the injections. Afterwards, the highly diluted Botulinumtoxin-A is injected under the skin surface in the area of the wrinkles to be treated with very fine cannulas. At the end of the treatment, the injection sites are cooled for a short time to prevent swelling and bruising. A wrinkle treatment with Botox in Berlin usually takes only ten to twenty minutes, depending on the extent. After half an hour at the latest, you are fully socially capable again.
There are hardly any risks associated with a professionally performed Botox treatment. Slight swelling or bruising at the injection sites usually disappears after just a few minutes. Systemic side effects affecting the entire body play virtually no role in wrinkle treatments with Botox. Allergic reactions to the active ingredient are very rare, but cannot be completely ruled out.
No special aftercare is required. If swelling or bruising does occur after a Botox treatment, it will subside within a few days. Redness at the injection sites can be safely covered with make-up. Since the active ingredient continues to spread in the muscles for about three to four hours after the injections, you should avoid physically strenuous activities and alcohol consumption for at least on the day of treatment, but preferably for 48 hours. Direct sun exposure and visits to the sauna or solarium are not recommended in the first week. Cosmetic treatments and facial massages are possible again after seven days.
Younger appearance, positive radiance and beauty – thanks to wrinkle treatment with Botox in Berlin
As a means against wrinkles, Botox has enjoyed growing popularity for years. Today, it is a very gentle treatment that softens mimic wrinkles, forehead wrinkles, laugh lines and frown lines, as well as wrinkles in other facial regions - or even makes them disappear completely during the period of effectiveness.

What is Botox?
Botulinumtoxin – in short: Botox – is a nerve toxin in concentrated form. The name is composed of the Latin terms "botulus" (sausage) and "toxin" (poison). It is formed by bacteria that used to find optimal growth conditions in inadequately preserved foods and caused life-threatening intoxications – the so-called botulism was first described in scientific form in 1817. Aesthetic medicine today makes use of this mechanism of action. For medical use, Botulinumtoxin-A (Botox) is obtained from bacterial cultures under controlled conditions as part of a multi-stage process.
For aesthetic-medical use, a total of six Botox preparations from recognized manufacturers are currently approved in Germany. In the USA, too, the approval of Botulinumtoxin-A is precisely regulated by the health authorities there. It is equally important that a wrinkle treatment with Botulinumtoxin-A is carried out exclusively by qualified medical professionals. A specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery is your optimal contact person for this.
How does Botulinumtoxin-A work?
After the injection of Botulinumtoxin-A, the active ingredient reaches its site of action. Botox attaches itself to the nerve endings (synapses) of the muscles. This interrupts the transmission of stimuli from the nerve cells to the muscles, as the neurotransmitter acetylcholine required for this is only released to a lesser extent or not at all. Depending on the chosen dosage, the contraction of the muscles is inhibited or completely prevented. The result is sustainable muscle relaxation and effective wrinkle smoothing. Due to its muscle-relaxing properties, Botulinumtoxin-A is used not only in aesthetic medicine for wrinkle treatments, but also as a therapeutic agent. The active ingredient is used, for example, for the treatment of migraine, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in various body regions, and in the therapy of depression. In dentistry, Botox is used, for example, for the treatment of bruxism (teeth grinding).
What results can be achieved with a wrinkle treatment with Botox?
A wrinkle treatment with Botox sustainably smooths forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and other types of wrinkles for a limited period – making your face appear significantly younger and fresher than before. The results are usually visible two to four days after the injections.
Botulinum toxin A reaches its maximum effect two weeks after treatment. Subsequently, the active ingredient is gradually broken down by the body – how quickly this breakdown occurs varies greatly from person to person. On average, the results of a wrinkle treatment with Botulinum toxin A are visible for four to six months, after which a follow-up treatment is necessary. Unwanted mimic effects that lead to wrinkle formation are largely eliminated. A wrinkle treatment with Botox is therefore able to slow down the natural aging process to a certain extent. Against this background, we recommend using the active ingredient early and preventively, before strongly pronounced, deep wrinkles can form.
Which wrinkles can be mitigated with a wrinkle treatment with Botox?
A wrinkle treatment with Botox is particularly suitable for dynamic wrinkles – that is, wrinkles caused by muscle movements. The main cause of these wrinkles is that the same muscles and skin areas are repeatedly used by our facial expressions. In aesthetic medicine, they are also referred to as dynamic wrinkles. Typical dynamic wrinkles are forehead wrinkles, laugh lines around the eyes, and the so-called frown lines that can form between the eyebrows. Their depth and prominence can vary greatly individually. Today, Botox is used not only for the treatment of forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and other wrinkles in the eye area, but in certain cases also for wrinkle smoothing in the nasolabial region, as well as on the neck and décolleté. Botulinum toxin A is particularly effective for wrinkles that are not yet too deep. For very pronounced dynamic wrinkles, a combined treatment with Botox and fillers such as hyaluronic acid may be an option.
A wrinkle treatment with Botox can mitigate the following types of wrinkles:
Horizontal forehead wrinkles
Forehead wrinkles are caused by raising the forehead. They run horizontally across the forehead; along with other dynamic wrinkles, they are among the classic dynamic wrinkles. Botox can be used for both the treatment and prevention of forehead wrinkles. The dosage of the active ingredient for forehead wrinkles depends on the number of wrinkles, muscle mass, wrinkle depth, and wrinkle pattern, as well as the intensity of individual facial expressions. A wrinkle treatment with Botox usually involves six to eight individual injections. Men generally require a slightly higher dose compared to women.
Frown lines
Frown lines or glabellar lines are located between the eyebrows. Most often, these are two or three parallel, vertical wrinkles. The cause of frown lines is strong mimic activity in this facial region. Many people furrow their brows when concentrating or in strong light – sooner or later, the frown lines thus created become permanent. A wrinkle treatment with Botox is particularly frequently requested for frown lines. Three to five injections are usually used for their smoothing. Long-term muscle relaxation also prevents the formation of further frown lines.
Laugh lines (crow's feet)
Laugh lines in the lateral area of the eyes – the so-called crow's feet – appear friendly when laughing or smiling, but give the face an older expression. A wrinkle treatment with Botox can effectively smooth these. For deeper wrinkles, a combined treatment with fillers can often achieve better results.
Nasal and lip wrinkles (bunny lines and barcode)
Nasal and lip wrinkles are at least partially dynamic wrinkles. Nasal wrinkles arise from frequent nose wrinkling on the bridge of the nose and on the sides of the nose. Lip wrinkles develop from the strain on the muscles of the upper or lower lip. In both cases, it is advisable to start Botox treatment early to optimally utilize the associated preventive effects. However, strongly pronounced wrinkles on the nose or lips affect not only facial expressions but also skin aging processes, so a combination treatment is often useful here. The number of injections depends on the number and extent of the wrinkles.

Wrinkle treatment with Botox in Berlin – medical and aesthetic excellence at Dottore Caletti
A wrinkle treatment with Botox in Berlin begins in our specialist practice for plastic and aesthetic surgery with a detailed consultation. In this preparatory discussion, we will inform you about the effects of Botulinum toxin A, as well as the possibilities and limitations of the treatment. We will also ask you some questions about pre-existing conditions and any contraindications to Botox. Subsequently, we will examine the wrinkles and the muscles to be treated to determine the injection sites and the optimal dosage of the active ingredient.
Of course, before a professional and medically sound wrinkle treatment with Botox in our practice, you do not have to worry that your natural facial expressions will be restricted and instead a mask-like “artificial face” will result. The preparations used for wrinkle treatment allow for very precise dosing. Especially if you are coming to our practice for a Botox treatment for the first time, the active ingredient will be dosed particularly carefully – if necessary, a follow-up treatment can be performed a few days later. The injection points are selected very precisely during the preliminary examination. In our specialist practice, we pay particular attention to ensuring that the result restores your natural radiance and that through medical and aesthetic excellence.
Frequently asked questions
Baby Botox is a current trend in wrinkle treatment with Botox. Compared to standard treatment, however, a significantly smaller amount of the active ingredient is injected. In addition, Botox is injected into the uppermost layer of the skin in such a way that the underlying muscle tissue is largely untouched. This allows for a particularly natural result. Baby Botox can be used, just like the standard treatment, for forehead wrinkles, frown lines, crow's feet, as well as for wrinkles around the mouth and in the neck area. Furthermore, the low dosage supports a very precise treatment. It is optimal if this method is applied very early – at the age of 30 to 35 years – to prevent the development of wrinkles. However, its effect only lasts for about three months. During the consultation in my practice, we will clarify whether Baby Botox is suitable for you.
In case of an overdose of Botulinum toxin A, there may be a stronger relaxation of the muscles in the treated facial areas, so that the facial expression initially no longer appears natural. However, such effects are reversible, as the body breaks down the active ingredient. With a professional treatment performed by an experienced specialist, such unwanted side effects do not play a role.
How long the effect of Botulinum toxin A lasts varies individually. If no renewed treatment is performed, the wrinkles will be visible again afterwards. However, their depth does not change due to the Botox injections.
Botulinum toxin A is particularly effective for dynamic wrinkles – i.e., mimic wrinkles. The treatment is especially recommended for forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and crow's feet. However, for wrinkles that have arisen due to natural aging or strong sun exposure and the associated loss of skin elasticity, this active ingredient reaches its limits. Other aesthetic procedures are better suited for their treatment (e.g., fillers, laser, or PRP).
Contraindications to Botulinum toxin A include certain muscle diseases and blood clotting disorders, as well as the medications used against them. In case of facial inflammation or taking antibiotics, the treatment appointment should be postponed. The active ingredient must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In the consultation before the treatment, I will, of course, also address possible contraindications.
