Wrinkle Treatments in Berlin
As we age, time naturally leaves its mark on our skin. Laughter creates warm, expressive lines around the eyes. However, many people feel uncomfortable with these changes because wrinkles can give the face a tired or stern expression, making us appear older than we feel.
As part of the natural ageing process, the skin gradually loses elasticity and becomes less able to retain moisture. A reduction in facial fat and collagen production also contributes to sagging. Unlike younger skin, it no longer returns as readily to a smooth, relaxed state, and lines can become visible even when the face is at rest.
Facial movement and external factors also contribute to wrinkle formation. Stress, smoking and an unbalanced diet can affect the skin from an early age. A healthy lifestyle may help to delay the development of wrinkles to some extent.
There may come a point when even expensive creams and good hydration can no longer adequately address visible signs of ageing. At this stage, it may be helpful to consider professional wrinkle treatment. Preventative Botox may be considered from the mid-twenties in suitable cases, whilst treatments intended to reduce established wrinkles are generally appropriate from the mid-thirties onwards.
Below, you can learn more about the different types of wrinkles and the treatment options available at my practice in Berlin.
Dynamic and Static Wrinkles
In aesthetic medicine, a distinction is made between dynamic, or expression, lines and static wrinkles. Expression lines develop over time through repeated facial muscle movement. Whether we laugh, concentrate on a screen, drink through a straw or blink, numerous muscles are involved in creating our expressions. Fine lines therefore form naturally in the skin.
Static wrinkles become more pronounced as the skin ages, loses firmness and begins to descend under the effects of gravity. The face may appear tired, and deeper creases can develop. Fillers are often suitable for restoring support and volume, whilst dynamic wrinkles are commonly treated with Botox to reduce the activity of the underlying muscles. At Dottore Caletti, I plan every treatment individually, taking account of your wishes, anatomy and personal circumstances.

Forehead Wrinkle Treatment in Berlin
Forehead lines play an important part in facial expression, communicating a wide range of emotions. We furrow the brow or draw the eyebrows together when expressing concern, mistrust or anger.
Frown lines are short vertical creases between the eyebrows. Once they have become established, they may create a persistently stern or displeased expression. Horizontal lines are also common across the forehead. Often called worry lines, they can make someone look permanently concerned or strained. For these reasons, many people consider wrinkle treatment specifically for the forehead.
As these are dynamic wrinkles, Botox is often particularly suitable. It reduces the activity of the relevant muscles, softening existing lines and helping to limit the development of deeper creases over time. Where wrinkles are already pronounced, combining Botox with a filler such as hyaluronic acid may provide a more balanced result.
Eye Wrinkle Treatment in Berlin
The facial skin around the eyes is particularly thin and has less underlying fat. This delicate area is therefore especially prone to wrinkles, which are difficult to avoid entirely. It is also in almost constant motion, as even blinking activates the muscles around the eyes. Excessive unprotected UV exposure, smoking, stress and insufficient sleep can further contribute to wrinkle formation in this area.
Laughter lines, also known as crow’s feet, are particularly noticeable here. These often appealing lines are caused by the muscle movements involved in smiling and laughing. Eye wrinkle treatment can help the eye area appear fresher and less tired. During a personal consultation, I will recommend the most suitable treatment or combination for you.

Mouth Wrinkle Treatment in Berlin
Wrinkles around the mouth can be particularly noticeable because they often involve the chin and cheeks as well. They may therefore affect a substantial area of the lower face and create a sad or strained expression.
As the skin loses elasticity, it becomes less able to resist the effects of gravity and gradually begins to descend. Repeated mouth movements also contribute to wrinkle formation. Nasolabial folds extend from the sides of the nose towards the corners of the mouth. Oral commissure lines develop at the outer corners of the mouth and can create creases in the cheeks. Fine lines may also form around the lips, often as a result of long-term smoking.
Everyone has an individual combination of dynamic and static wrinkles around the mouth. Treatment must therefore be tailored carefully to determine whether Botox, a filler or a combination of both is most appropriate.
Chin Wrinkle Treatment in Berlin
The chin is another highly mobile part of the face. A principal cause of chin wrinkles is persistent tension in the mentalis, the chin muscle. Fine lines may gradually develop into more visible creases.
Among the lines affecting the chin and lower face, marionette lines are often the most prominent. These creases extend vertically downwards from the corners of the mouth and resemble the hinged mouth of a marionette puppet. As they can create a sad or stern expression, many people find them bothersome.
The labiomental crease is a natural feature marking the transition between the lower lip and the chin. It can become deeper with age. Lines and dimpling may also develop across the chin itself, creating what is commonly called a strawberry or cobblestone chin. Botox is often particularly suitable here because the dimpling results from movement of the chin muscle.

Alongside surgical procedures, I offer a particular focus on minimally invasive wrinkle treatments at Dottore Caletti. These generally require neither general anaesthesia nor an overnight hospital stay. Below, you can find key information about Botox, fillers and liquid lifting. During your consultation, I will help you determine which options may be suitable for you.
Botox
The word Botox is often associated with celebrities appearing in public with mask-like faces. Immobile or unnatural-looking features can result from excessive dosing or treatment performed without appropriate expertise. These examples give a misleading impression of what carefully planned Botox treatment can achieve.
Precise dosing is essential in wrinkle treatment with Botox. To achieve a natural-looking result, treatment should be performed by an appropriately qualified and experienced medical practitioner. But what exactly is Botox, and how does it work?
Botox is a commonly used brand name for botulinum toxin. It is a purified neurotoxin that temporarily reduces the signals responsible for muscle contraction. Only approved products should be used for facial treatment in Germany. By relaxing selected muscles and reducing their movement, botulinum toxin can soften expression lines and may also help to delay their progression.
Because the skin is smoothed through reduced muscle movement rather than being supported with filler, Botox is primarily suitable for dynamic wrinkles. It tends to work most reliably on lines that are not yet deeply established and can also be used preventatively in appropriate cases. Depending on your needs, a combination of Botox and filler may be preferable. I will discuss these options with you carefully during a personal consultation.
The effects of Botox generally last for approximately four to six months, during which treated lines usually appear softer. With repeated treatment and reduced muscle activity, the benefits may sometimes last longer. Limiting repeated contraction may also help to prevent deeper creases from becoming established.
Fillers
During wrinkle filler treatment, a liquid or gel is injected beneath the skin to restore support and replace lost volume. At Dottore Caletti, I use hyaluronic acid, poly-L-lactic acid or the patient’s own fat as fillers.
Hyaluronic acid is particularly suitable for static wrinkles, fine crepey lines and deeper folds. Depending on the injection technique and dosage, it can restore volume across a broader area or soften individual creases. Results commonly last for around 10 to 12 months, whilst some newer products may remain effective for up to 14 months. As hyaluronic acid also helps the skin retain moisture, improvements in skin quality may remain visible over the longer term.
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, whilst poly-L-lactic acid is a biocompatible substance that stimulates collagen production. Both types of filler are gradually broken down by the body, so repeat treatment may be required to maintain the result.
A patient’s own fat may also be used for wrinkle treatment. As this is a more involved procedure, it is generally more expensive than other filler treatments. Fat must first be removed by liposuction from a suitable area of the body and then carefully prepared for injection. Fat transfer is particularly suitable for restoring volume across larger areas.
I will help you select the most appropriate filler, taking account of individual factors such as your skin type, age and the nature of the wrinkles being treated. Your personal preferences are equally important and will be considered as part of my professional recommendation.

Liquid Lifting
Liquid lifting, also known as a liquid facelift, is a wrinkle treatment that combines different injection techniques and fillers. It can reshape facial contours and create a fresher appearance without surgery.
The treatment not only reduces the appearance of wrinkles but also restores lost facial volume. This can create a more balanced, supported appearance without the need for a surgical facelift.
In addition to hyaluronic acid and poly-L-lactic acid, Radiesse may also be used. Radiesse is a biocompatible filler based on calcium hydroxylapatite and is particularly suitable for treating deeper wrinkles and restoring structural support.
