Labiaplasty in Berlin
The intimate area is both private and sensitive. As with any other part of the body, its appearance can affect how comfortable a person feels. Yet many people still find it difficult to speak openly about intimate concerns, particularly dissatisfaction with their appearance or issues affecting intimacy.
Neither intimate concerns nor intimate surgery should be considered taboo. For suitable patients, these procedures may improve physical comfort, confidence and sexual wellbeing, helping them feel more at ease in their own body.
What types of labiaplasty are available in Berlin?
Ideally, the outer labia, or labia majora, cover the inner labia, or labia minora. Hormonal changes or weaker connective tissue can, however, cause the inner labia to become elongated or enlarged so that they extend beyond the outer labia and are clearly visible. This may lead to pain during movement, uncomfortable skin irritation and difficulties affecting quality of life or sexual activity. In such cases, labiaplasty or labial reduction may be helpful.
Elongated inner labia are another common reason why women may feel uncomfortable about their intimate area. Labiaplasty in Berlin can reduce the labia minora. For many women, the procedure may improve body confidence and help them feel more comfortable with intimacy and their sexuality. It can also provide long-term relief from physical symptoms such as pain and irritation.
Surgical options in Berlin therefore include labial reduction, labial augmentation and labiaplasty to reshape the labia.
What happens during labial reduction?
Before surgery, I carefully measure the amount of tissue to be removed. I then precisely excise the excess tissue responsible for the elongated labia minora. The incision pattern may vary slightly depending on the chosen technique and your individual anatomy. Once the labia have been reduced, I close the incisions using fine sutures, which are usually dissolvable. Labial reduction generally takes around one hour.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic or, if required, twilight sedation. The intimate area must be fully shaved before surgery. Medication that affects blood clotting may need to be stopped for two weeks beforehand to reduce the risk of excessive bleeding, but only after consultation with the prescribing doctor. Labiaplasty requires considerable surgical experience. I am highly familiar with this operation and perform it regularly, providing detailed specialist advice throughout your treatment.

Cost of labial reduction in Berlin
The cost of labial reduction depends on factors including the desired outcome, the extent of surgery and the treatment plan selected. Following a thorough examination and discussion during your personal consultation, I will explain the anticipated costs in detail.
Labial augmentation with fat transfer
In addition to reducing the labia minora, it is possible to restore volume to the outer labia if they are underdeveloped or have lost volume. Depending on the indication, labia minora reduction may be combined with labia majora augmentation. This augmentation is performed using a technique known as lipofilling or autologous fat transfer.
Your own fat cells are harvested by liposuction from an area with sufficient excess fat, such as the abdomen, thighs or buttocks. Liposuction can also refine the contours and proportions of these donor areas. The harvested fat is then carefully processed and injected into the intimate area. A proportion of the transferred fat cells becomes established within the labial tissue, providing natural-looking additional volume.
Labiaplasty and age – when is surgery appropriate?
Intimate surgical procedures are only performed on adults whose physical development is complete. Women aged 18 and over may arrange a consultation to discuss surgery in the intimate area. There is no fixed upper age limit: provided a patient’s health does not preclude labiaplasty, the procedure may also be considered later in life.
After treatment
You should rest for 48 hours after labiaplasty. As the technique is designed to minimise unnecessary tissue trauma, patients generally recover relatively quickly. Depending on your occupation, you may be able to return to work after approximately three days. Tight clothing, exercise, sexual activity, saunas, swimming and prolonged sitting should generally be avoided for around six weeks, until the wounds have healed fully and the sutures have dissolved.
At my specialist practice for plastic and aesthetic surgery in Berlin, I offer labiaplasty tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Depending on your anatomy and treatment goals, options include labial reduction or augmentation using your own fat. I plan every intimate surgical procedure individually, with the aim of improving both physical comfort and confidence in your body.
