Oberarmstraffung Berlin
With increasing age, but also due to significant weight fluctuations, the elasticity of the skin and connective tissue decreases. Sagging upper arms can also be a consequence. The skin becomes less firm and wrinkled – a re-contouring of body shapes through sport and muscle building quickly reaches its limits, especially in the arm area. Nevertheless, many people desire defined upper arms.
A plastic-surgical arm lift in Berlin enables an effective and sustainable correction of sagging upper arms through coordinated procedures. The result is slender, firm arms that match the other contours of the body and emphasize the natural shape. Our patients who have opted for this procedure regain a positive body feeling and thus also joy of life and quality of life.

Before the actual operation, we first mark the exact incision lines on your upper arms – the course of the incisions has already been clarified during the initial consultation. You will then receive a local anesthetic or general anesthesia. A local anesthetic is only used for a small extent of the procedure. For a larger and longer operation, general anesthesia is significantly less stressful. The surgical upper arm lift at our practice in Berlin is performed with a very fine scalpel and requires plastic-surgical precision work. Excess tissue is removed, then the arm is brought into a new shape. If necessary, drains are placed for the drainage of wound fluid. Finally, the skin incisions are closed with medical sutures. The duration of the operation depends on the individual treatment effort - on average, a plastic-surgical upper arm lift takes about two hours.
An upper arm lift in our Berlin practice is a low-risk procedure – as experienced experts in plastic-aesthetic surgery, we create all the conditions to ensure that you do not have to expect complications during and after the operation. Nevertheless, risks cannot be completely excluded in any surgical procedure. Possible complications of an upper arm lift can include, for example, bleeding, medication intolerances, wound healing disorders, or infections. You can also contribute to minimizing risks during the operation and in the healing phase. We recommend discontinuing pain and sleeping medication as well as blood-thinning medication at least one week before the procedure. During this time, you should also reduce the consumption of alcohol and nicotine to a minimum or – even better – completely abstain from it. Swelling, bruising, or even slight post-operative bleeding in the first few days after the operation are normal and no cause for concern. For the usually very moderate wound pain, we will prescribe you a pain medication. However, in case of more severe discomfort, you should contact our practice immediately.
After the operation, you will receive a compression bandage on your upper arm. In the first four to six weeks, you must also wear compression garments. They ensure that the tissue in the surgical area is supported in such a way that an optimal arm contour is created and that the sutures are not excessively stressed by movements. In the first few days, you can also relieve existing discomfort by cooling. Drains are removed on the following day – you should refrain from showering until then. The removal of the sutures is performed after two weeks. Since the lymphatic system of the upper arms is stressed by the procedure, you should start with lymphatic drainage after one week to avoid lymphedema. After the removal of the sutures, special scar care should be performed regularly over a longer period. We will advise you on the correct techniques and scar care products in a personal consultation. In the first two weeks after the lift, physical rest is important. Heavy carrying or lifting is absolutely taboo during this time. You will be able to work and socialize after about two weeks, and sports are possible again after four weeks. However, with regard to activities that put a lot of strain on the arms, you should still exercise caution for a little longer. The same applies to direct sun exposure and visits to the solarium to avoid pigmentation of the scar.
With an upper arm lift in Berlin to a positive body feeling and higher quality of life
An upper arm lift is a plastic-surgical procedure in which sagging skin and excess tissue in the upper arm area are permanently removed. The operation is indicated for wrinkled, sagging skin on the upper arm and the so-called "bat wings". If your upper arms are very thick and fleshy, so that your body proportions appear unnatural, the procedure can be combined with liposuction.
Upper arm lift Berlin – what result can be achieved?
The most important result of an upper arm lift is slender, firm upper arms. The contour of the arms is reshaped and adapted to the other body shapes. The result of an upper arm lift lasts for many years or even a lifetime. It is optimal if you support the treatment effect long-term through exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
The positive change in your arms due to the lift is already visible in the first few days after the procedure. However, the final treatment result will only become clear after several months, along with the completion of the healing process.

Where are incisions necessary for an upper arm lift?
Basically, we try to make the incisions for the procedure as carefully as possible. The incisions are placed on the inner sides of the upper arms, so that the scar after the surgical procedure is later not or only minimally visible. Depending on the extent of the excess tissue to be removed, two different incision techniques are possible: The I-technique is used for smaller tissue excesses. The incision runs along the inner side of the upper arm from the armpit to the elbow. The T-technique is used when a larger volume of tissue needs to be removed. In this case, an additional horizontal incision is made in the armpit area.
If there is only a small amount of excess skin and the main goal is to improve the contour of the upper arms, a minimally invasive upper arm lift using liposuction and skin tightening withJ-Plasma-Renuvion can also be considered as an alternative.
Arm Lifts in Berlin – Individuality and Personal Consultation
The first step to an arm lift in our Berlin specialist practice for plastic and aesthetic surgery is a detailed consultation, in which we clarify all questions that are important for this procedure. For us – our entire team – it is of utmost importance that you feel well cared for during the treatment and in our practice.
During the consultation, we get to know your personal circumstances and your expectations regarding the procedure. We explain the scope and course of the operation as well as the techniques used. Of course, possible risks or contraindications are also discussed. This initial consultation also includes a detailed anamnesis and a physical examination. On this basis, we create your individual treatment plan.
On the day of the operation, we will discuss the course of the operation and topics that are important for optimal aftercare. During the healing phase after the performed lift, we are of course always available to you with our medical advice and – if necessary – also for therapeutic measures.
Frequently Asked Questions
All patients who feel their external appearance and body image are impaired by sagging skin and tissue changes can have their upper arms tightened. The procedure can be performed at any age.
Provided there are no major weight fluctuations and associated renewed stretching of the upper arm tissue after the procedure, the surgical result lasts a lifetime. You can support the long-term success of the operation through sport and a healthy lifestyle.
A second arm lift is generally possible and is performed in this case over the existing scars.
The formation of visible scars cannot be completely avoided with an arm lift, as one or more larger incisions are necessary for the procedure, which are, however, located on the inside of the upper arms. A professional surgeon will ensure that the incisions are made in such a way that the scars are later present but not visible. A careful fine incision technique and regular scar care after the procedure also contribute to very low visibility of the scars.
If not only loose tissue but also larger fat deposits have formed on the upper arms, you should not only have your arms tightened but also consider liposuction.
If there is only a small amount of excess skin, liposuction may be sufficient to restore an aesthetic appearance to the arms. In my practice, I additionally optimize the treatment result after liposuction with J-Plasma-Renuvion.
J-Plasma-Renuvion is an innovative therapy method to sustainably tighten sagging skin. J-Plasma or "Cool Plasma" is a cool helium gas. It consists of ionized, low-energy helium molecules. In aesthetic plastic surgery, it is used in the context of liposuction.
After every suction of existing fat cells, cavities form in the treated areas, which are traversed by connective tissue. The J-Plasma beam is guided through the puncture sites into these cavities and gently and carefully shrinks the connective tissue there. This smooths and tightens the skin from the inside. The treatment is painless and effective. The result remains permanently.
General anesthesia is required for an arm lift primarily because of the duration of this procedure. It is intended to prevent you from being overly stressed by the operation. However, with a small scope of operation, local anesthesia is also possible.
If you have concerns about general anesthesia, please discuss them with me during the consultation.
During the procedure, you will not feel any pain due to the anesthesia or local anesthetic. After the operation, you should expect moderate wound pain in the first few days, which can be well managed with mild painkillers.
Numerous lymphatic vessels are located in the upper arm area, which are inevitably affected by the operation. Lymphatic drainage prevents lymphedema (lymph congestion). It occurs when the drainage of lymph fluid is disturbed, which can lead to swelling and, if necessary, wound healing disorders.
Contraindications for an arm lift include vascular diseases, venous congestion, high blood pressure, and certain autoimmune diseases. Blood-thinning medications that cannot be discontinued also preclude surgery. In my medical consultation, I address such questions and try to find a positive solution.
