Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid takes 20 to 30 minutes. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia; in some cases, applying an anesthetic cream to the lips is sufficient. We will have already discussed the desired treatment result and the optimal procedure for lip augmentation in detail during the preliminary consultation. Subsequently, the filler is injected into the red of the lips using thin needles. Depending on the individual findings and the desired treatment result, different injection techniques are used.
Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid is a low-risk procedure. For lip corrections in my practice, I exclusively use very high-quality hyaluronic acid products from certified manufacturers, so that intolerance reactions are virtually excluded. Immediately after the filler injections, swelling of the lips may occur. This lasts for a few hours, but a maximum of one to two days. You do not have to fear overcorrections such as 'duck lips' or 'beak lips' with a lip correction in my practice. My work combines many years of experience as a plastic-aesthetic surgeon, sensitivity, and a sure aesthetic sense. Possible contraindications for lip augmentation are acute inflammation and infections of the lips, autoimmune diseases, and an increased tendency to bleed. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it should be carefully considered whether the procedure can be performed immediately. However, we clarify these questions comprehensively during the consultation in my practice prior to a lip correction and almost always find a good solution.
No special aftercare is required after lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid. On the day of treatment, you should avoid touching your lips, kissing, lipstick and make-up in the mouth area, as well as hot drinks, as the lips are still very sensitive after the treatment. If you notice any unevenness on your lips, you can smooth them out after the procedure with gentle massages. I will explain the appropriate technique to you during the consultation in my practice - of course, you can also consult me at any time after the procedure with further questions. Sunbathing and visits to the sauna and solarium are possible again after about two days.

For the so-called lipofilling, a small amount of autologous fat is taken from other body regions, for example from the buttocks or thighs, before the treatment and prepared for lip injection.

A direct lip lift is a small operation to tighten the lips, optimally define them or correct asymmetries. A strip of skin is excised at the borders of the vermilion border. Scarring from the procedure is minimal and can later be well concealed with permanent make-up if necessary. A direct lip lift is mainly performed on older patients.
” Bullhorn Lift”
As a result of the natural aging process, the distance between the mouth and nose increases over time, while the volume and elasticity of the lips and the mouth region decrease. A so-called “Bullhorn Lift” enables a rejuvenation of the lower face by tightening the area between the mouth and nose and an optical enlargement of the upper lip. For this, an incision is made along the natural shape of the nostrils to remove excess skin. The incision resembles the horns of a bull, which gives the procedure its name. The effects of a Bullhorn Lift are that the distance between the mouth and nose is reduced and at the same time the upper lip is lifted, so that it appears optically larger. The scar is located in the nasal entrance and is therefore completely inconspicuous.
The two surgical procedures – direct lip lift or “Bullhorn Lift” – are low-risk and each take about one hour. The ability to work and socialize is restored after a short time. In the first few days after the procedure, sports and physical exertion should be avoided, as should sunbathing, sauna and solarium for about two weeks.
