Immediately before the procedure, we will discuss the surgical process again. Subsequently, another examination of the treatment area will be performed to determine the final incision sites. Thereupon, the subcutaneous fat tissue is loosened by liposuction and suctioned off with fine cannulas. Depending on the findings, a J-Plasma-Renuvion treatment may follow. Liposuction of the neck is performed under local anesthesia – in addition, you will receive a light sedative that puts you into a twilight sleep. If you wish, general anesthesia is also optionally possible. The procedure takes about one hour, and an inpatient stay is not required afterwards.
Liposuction of the neck is considered a low-risk operation, provided it is performed by an experienced specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery. Nevertheless, as with any other surgical procedure, complications such as secondary bleeding, wound healing disorders, inflammation, or drug intolerances cannot be completely ruled out. Immediately after the procedure, swelling and bruising may occur, but these usually disappear quickly.
In the first week after neck liposuction, you will wear a compression bandage in the head and neck area for one week. It stabilizes the tissue in the treated regions. Any pain that may occur usually subsides within a few hours after the procedure, but can be completely suppressed by mild painkillers. Swelling and bruising can be alleviated by cooling. You can wash or shower your face and neck after just one day, while you should avoid direct sunlight, UV light, sauna visits, as well as massages and cosmetic treatments in the face and neck area for the first month. You should rest physically for one to two weeks, and sports are possible again after four weeks.

For sagging skin in the neck area, massages and cosmetic treatments usually quickly reach their limits. There are no medical indications for general anesthesia for this procedure. A neck liposuction is low-pain – a local anesthetic is completely sufficient to eliminate pain from skin incisions and the insertion of cannulas for the liposuction. In addition, you will receive a sedative so that you experience the procedure in twilight sleep. However, if you wish, I will also perform a neck liposuction under general anesthesia.
During a liposuction, a cavity is initially created by the removal of fat cells. The compression bandage prevents this from filling with blood and tissue fluid after the procedure. It stabilizes the tissue and helps the neck and chin to achieve the desired contour after the liposuction.
J-Plasma-Renuvion is an innovative treatment for sagging skin that is used after liposuction. After a liposuction, cavities are formed in the treated areas, which are traversed by connective tissue. J-Plasma ("Cool Plasma") is a cool, anionic helium gas. The plasma jet is guided into these cavities through the puncture sites for the liposuction.
