Breast lift in Berlin
In our ideal of beauty, firm breasts stand for vitality, youthfulness, and physical attractiveness. However, the elasticity of the skin and breast glandular tissue decreases with age. Genetic predispositions, significant weight loss, and pregnancies also contribute to breast tissue becoming weaker and thus saggier.
Many women suffer considerably from their bust no longer meeting their personal expectations. They feel less feminine and may tend to hide their breasts under loose clothing. Their self-confidence and body image are reduced. A sagging bust can also have a significantly negative impact on sexuality and the enjoyment of it.
An operative breast lift restores the original condition - the breasts regain their round, full, and firm shape. A breast lift with us in Berlin can also correct breast asymmetries.
Often, women only decide on the generally uncomplicated procedure after several years and are surprised by the effects on their self-confidence, body perception, and quality of life.
In my specialist practice for plastic and aesthetic surgery in Berlin, I use various surgical procedures for breast lifts. These include different incision techniques, as well as breast lifts with a so-called "internal bra" or using implants. The choice of method depends on the patient's personal circumstances. In any case, it is important to me that my breast lift in Berlin leads to a sustainable and aesthetically optimal result. Medical and aesthetic excellence come together in my work.

My breast lift in Berlin - either in isolated form or in combination with a breast reduction or augmentation - begins with a detailed medical consultation. Further measures are necessary to prepare for the operation: It is advisable to stop taking blood-thinning medications - thrombosis inhibitors, but also painkillers like Aspirin - one week before the operation date. You should reduce your consumption of alcohol and nicotine as much as possible during this time, or ideally, stop it completely. The operation itself lasts between two and three hours, depending on the extent of the procedure and the surgical technique used. After a brief discussion to clarify any remaining questions, I will first mark the incision lines on your breasts with a body pen. You will then receive general anesthesia. Throughout the entire operation, an experienced anesthesiologist will monitor the anesthesia and your well-being. The operation concludes with the suturing of the wounds and the placement of drains. The latter remain on the breast for one to two days. Depending on the material, the sutures are either absorbed by the body or removed on an outpatient basis after wound healing is complete - usually after two to three weeks. Immediately after the operation, the breasts are supported by a tight bandage, which you replace with a sports bra or a medical support bra after a few days. You usually leave the clinic after one to two days.
A breast lift is a low-risk procedure. Nevertheless, as with any other operation, complications such as secondary bleeding, infections, or wound healing disorders cannot be completely ruled out. Immediately after the procedure, numbness of the skin and nipples may occur due to injuries or pressure damage to individual nerves, but this only persists permanently in rare exceptional cases. In the case of a breast lift using implants, a so-called capsular contracture can occur in rare cases. Due to the body's immune reaction, the implants are completely or partially encapsulated by connective tissue. We clarify individual risks during the consultation appointments before the procedure. As an experienced specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery, I naturally have the medical and surgical expertise to minimize surgical risks. In this context, I would like to ask you to consistently adhere to my recommendations for preparing for the procedure and for aftercare. You thus make a significant contribution to ruling out complications.
In the first few days after the procedure, swelling, feelings of tension, and pain in the breasts may occur. Such discomfort can be well managed with painkillers. Lymphatic drainage can be very helpful for persistent swelling and tension. Immediately after the operation, you will receive a tight compression bandage, which you will replace after a few days with a well-fitting sports bra or a medical support bra. You should wear this bra around the clock for the first four weeks after the procedure. It serves to support the shaping of the breast and scar healing. You should refrain from showering for the first two to three days after the procedure. Full baths and sauna visits are possible again after about six weeks. It is important that you protect your breasts during the healing process. You should completely avoid physically strenuous activities and vigorous movements of the upper arms for six to eight weeks and, if possible, sleep on your back during this time. After a breast lift, your breasts will be very sensitive for several months, which your partner should also know. The normal sensitivity of the breasts and nipples will only return over several months. The surgical scars will recede so much during the next six months that they will only be visible as fine lines, if at all. After wound healing is complete, you can support scar healing with massages and treatment with special scar creams. Sunbathing is only possible again after six months to prevent permanent pigmentation of the scars. In the first few weeks after a breast lift, I offer you several individual follow-up appointments in my practice.
Beauty, well-being, and quality of life through a breast lift
An operative breast lift - in medical terminology "mastopexy" - is the only way to restore the original contour and firmness to sagging breasts. The loss of breast shape is by no means only an issue of older age; many younger women also suffer from it. Especially large breasts tend to succumb to gravity early on. Inherited connective tissue weaknesses and pregnancies also contribute to this.
The so-called pendulous breast is to be distinguished from sagging breasts - from a medical point of view, it is present when the nipples are at the level of the inframammary fold or at an even lower position. Both scenarios are associated with a very high psychological and social potential for suffering for affected women, which ultimately leads them to decide on a lift.
Physical complaints such as neck, shoulder, and back pain or permanent postural defects can arise if the breasts are not only saggy but also very large and heavy. In this case, it is advisable to combine a lift with a breast reduction. It is also possible to combine the procedure with a breast augmentation - this approach is recommended, for example, if the breast has lost not only its elasticity but also volume after a pregnancy. The insertion of implants can fulfill a double function in this case.
A breast lift can be performed at our clinic in Berlin at any age if the breast has lost its former firm shape or has not achieved it during physical development. The only important thing is that breast growth is complete. Of course, the procedure should only be performed by an experienced plastic and aesthetic surgeon with appropriate specialist training and sound breast surgical experience. If you are looking for a breast lift in Berlin, you are in good hands with us.
What results can be achieved with a breast lift?
The procedure will sustainably lift your breast. At the same time, your original breast contour will be restored. You will get a first impression of the result of the operation directly after the procedure. The final result is usually visible after six months. It lasts for at least ten years - in many cases, however, patients can enjoy firm, well-shaped breasts for significantly longer. In the event of more significant changes to the breast, a second procedure is also possible.
We will provide you with comprehensive advice on breast lifts and your options in our practice in Berlin. If the lift is performed with implants, regular monitoring of the breast implants is required after 10 years.

Classic Incision Techniques
When using classic surgical procedures for breast lift in Berlin, I make the incisions around the nipple if possible - resulting in fine and almost invisible scars. This surgical technique is particularly suitable for breast lifts of a smaller extent. Significantly stronger tightening effects can be achieved with the Lejour method - possibly in combination with a T- or L-incision. With the Lejour method, a vertical incision is made below the nipple. With a T- or L-incision, an additional horizontal incision is made in the inframammary fold. The procedure removes excess skin. As part of my breast lift in Berlin, I usually also reposition the nipples upwards.
Breast lift with autologous tissue using the "internal bra"
This surgical method is another one of the procedures we use in Berlin for breast lift. For this, the excess skin is not completely removed, but used to support the breast. It is placed around the lower part of the breast like a tight belt and firmly sutured there. The breast is not only tightened and sustainably supported by the "internal bra", but also gently shaped. The procedure is particularly suitable for women with severely sagging breasts.

"Internal bra" using implants
Alternatively, the breast lift with an "internal bra" can also be performed with silicone implants. It is particularly suitable for women with a large breast volume that should be maintained even after a breast lift. For this procedure, incisions are made around the areola, a vertical incision downwards, and a horizontal incision in the inframammary fold. The next step consists of removing excess tissue and repositioning the nipples. The breast implant is inserted below the mammary gland. Our practice in Berlin is highly experienced in all types of breast lifts.
Frequently Asked Questions
The costs for a pure breast lift or a breast lift in combination with breast augmentation are not reimbursed by health insurance companies - they are considered exclusively as cosmetic surgeries. Other conditions may apply if the breast lift is combined with a breast reduction. If large, heavy breasts demonstrably lead to physical discomfort, it is a medical indication, so that cost coverage may be an option.
It is optimal if a breast lift is performed only after family planning has been completed. Another pregnancy and also breastfeeding will change the condition of the breast again. The breasts may sag again, making another procedure necessary. In addition, depending on the surgical technique used, the breast lift can impair the ability to breastfeed.
After a pregnancy, the procedure should only be performed when the changes in the breast and the rest of the body caused by it have completely regressed. After the end of the breastfeeding period, a waiting period of eight months is recommended, as only then will the breast have returned to its original state.
The result of a breast lift lasts for a long time - generally, your breasts will not change significantly for at least ten years after the procedure. This period can be shortened if you experience strong weight fluctuations after the breast lift. It is therefore optimal if you reach your desired weight before the operation and have maintained it for at least a few months.
In principle, a breast lift can be performed more than once. It is important that your treating plastic and aesthetic surgeon receives as much information as possible about the first operation. If you come to my practice for a follow-up operation, I would be pleased if you provide me with all documents from your first breast lift or other breast operations that have already been performed.
Certain pre-existing conditions such as poorly controlled diabetes or high blood pressure can be contraindications to surgical breast lift. The same applies to certain medications - especially anticoagulants - which should be taken without interruption. As part of my medical consultation before the procedure, we will of course discuss such problems and the question of whether there is a medically justifiable solution for them. The operation cannot be performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
