Brow Lift
Have you ever considered a brow lift? If you would like larger-looking eyes and a more alert expression, your brows can be lifted without surgery. In a minimally invasive brow lift, targeted muscle-relaxing injections are used to reduce muscle activity above the eyes.
Brow Lift in Berlin – With or Without Surgery
A brow lift can be performed in two principal ways: surgically or with muscle-relaxing injections. A non-surgical brow lift is particularly suitable for patients seeking a subtle change in brow position without the recovery time and risks associated with an operation.
During a non-surgical brow lift, a muscle relaxant is injected into selected areas of the circular muscle around the eye. This reduces its downward pull and allows the eye and brow area to relax, creating a subtle lifting effect. The brows can generally be raised by approximately one to three millimetres.

For many people, a well-defined brow bone and naturally arched eyebrows are important elements of an attractive face. A carefully shaped brow can make the eyes appear more open and the overall expression look fresher.
A brow lift can create a more open, alert eye area. Raising the brows with a muscle relaxant may also improve the appearance of mildly drooping upper eyelids. At my practice in Berlin, I will assess your anatomy and discuss which brow lift technique is most appropriate for you.
Benefits of brow lift treatment
- Larger-looking, more alert and more youthful eyes
- Improvement of facial asymmetries where appropriate
- A softer, less tired-looking facial expression

How a Minimally Invasive Brow Lift Is Performed in Berlin
Whether you are considering a brow lift to improve a tired expression or to soften the appearance of the eye area, a brow lift using botulinum toxin offers a quick, minimally invasive alternative to conventional surgery for suitable concerns. In aesthetic medicine, this treatment is well established and generally requires no downtime.
The eyebrows gradually descend over time as the ageing process affects the skin and supporting tissues, whilst changes to the facial bones and a loss of fat also contribute. In a non-surgical brow lift, a muscle relaxant containing botulinum toxin is injected directly into selected parts of the muscle around the eye.
This reduces contraction of the targeted muscle and relaxes its downward pull on the eyebrows. The resulting lifting effect can raise the brows by up to approximately three millimetres, making the eyes appear larger and the overall expression more alert.
The treatment is generally well tolerated and does not require anaesthesia. A brow lift usually takes around 10 to 15 minutes. Botulinum toxin treatment requires detailed anatomical knowledge and considerable experience. It should therefore be performed by an appropriately qualified specialist to minimise the risk of unwanted side effects.
The Day After Your Brow Lift
Minor side effects can also occur after a non-surgical brow lift. These may include slight redness or bruising, which is usually harmless and should subside within a few days. You should avoid strenuous physical activity for 24 hours after treatment. Sunbeds, saunas and sunbathing should also be avoided for the first few days. The final result can usually be assessed after 14 days.
How Long Does a Brow Lift Last?
The lifting effect lasts for an average of four to six months. Hyaluronic acid gel may be used as an alternative or complement to a botulinum toxin brow lift. In this treatment, hyaluronic acid is injected above the orbital bone to provide support and create a subtle lifting effect. The brows can generally be raised by around two millimetres, which may be sufficient to produce a more open appearance.
Cost of a Brow Lift
All services are billed in accordance with the German fee schedule for doctors (GOÄ). Botulinum toxin treatment costs approximately €250. Hyaluronic acid injections are in a similar price range. A surgical brow lift costs approximately €2,500.
Hyaluronic Acid or Botox: Which Is the Better Choice?
Botox and hyaluronic acid are among the substances most commonly used for wrinkle treatment, and both can achieve very good results in appropriately selected patients. Whether Botox or hyaluronic acid is more suitable for you depends primarily on the type of lines or wrinkles to be treated.
Botox and hyaluronic acid work in different ways and are therefore suited to different indications. At my Berlin practice, I offer personalised wrinkle treatments using both hyaluronic acid and Botox.

How Hyaluronic Acid and Botox Work
Hyaluronic acid and Botox have very different mechanisms of action. Botox is a brand name commonly used for botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin that relaxes targeted muscles and softens expression lines. It works by temporarily reducing signal transmission from nerve endings to muscle fibres. Following treatment, the targeted muscles contract less strongly, allowing the overlying lines to become smoother.
Hyaluronic acid, by contrast, is a substance that occurs naturally in the body, including in cells and connective tissue. It binds water and may support collagen production, helping the skin retain volume and elasticity. Hyaluronic acid injections can make the skin appear smoother and fuller. The filler replaces some of the volume lost as tissues change with age, supporting the skin from within and softening wrinkles for a fresher appearance.
Botox or Hyaluronic Acid: A Personalised Decision
The choice between hyaluronic acid and Botox is an individual one. It depends on your anatomy, general health, the type of wrinkles to be treated and their depth. During a personal consultation, Dottore Caletti will advise you on wrinkle treatment with Botox and hyaluronic acid in Berlin and recommend an approach tailored to your needs.

Brow Lift Surgery in Berlin
A surgical brow lift is usually performed as an outpatient procedure under local anaesthesia. Several surgical techniques are available. One option is to make a short incision above the eyebrow and remove a narrow strip of skin.
The remaining skin edges are then closed without tension. In patients with thicker eyebrows, as is often the case in men, the resulting scar can usually be concealed within the brow. Men also often have pronounced horizontal forehead lines, where an incision may be positioned discreetly. Another option is to make an incision at the hairline and lift the outer part of the eyebrow.
Aftercare
After surgery, the area should be cooled to help minimise bruising and swelling. You should also sleep with your upper body slightly elevated for the first few days. The treated area may initially feel numb, and there may be a sensation of tightness across the forehead; these symptoms usually subside on their own after several days. If non-dissolvable sutures are used, they are generally removed after approximately seven days.
You can then gradually return to your usual routine and normally resume exercise after around three to four weeks. Saunas, sunbathing and strong sunlight should be avoided for approximately four weeks after your brow lift. If exposure cannot be avoided, use a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor.
How Long Do the Results Last?
As this is a surgical procedure, the result generally lasts considerably longer than that of a minimally invasive treatment. Depending on the individual ageing process and surgical technique, the result may last approximately five to ten years.
Cost of Surgery
As surgery is more involved, the cost is correspondingly higher. You can expect a surgical brow lift to cost approximately €2,500. At my practice in Berlin, I will advise you on the treatment option best suited to your needs.
